Niveles de AQI explicados

Estos rangos son útiles cuando te dicen cuándo debe cambiar tu plan. La respuesta exacta depende de tu sensibilidad, del tiempo al aire libre y de si hay humo.

Core AQI bands

0-50 Good

Routine outdoor activity is usually fine.

51-100 Moderate

Most people can continue as usual, but highly sensitive people may start watching symptoms.

101-150 Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups

Children, older adults, and people with lung or heart conditions should reduce longer outdoor exertion.

151-200 Unhealthy

This is where the broader public begins to change plans, especially exercise and long outdoor blocks.

201-300 Very Unhealthy

Treat this as a high-concern day: minimize outdoor time and protect indoor air.

301+ Hazardous

Use emergency-style thinking, especially if the conditions persist.

What usually changes first

  • Exercise and other heavy-breathing activities change first.
  • Children’s outdoor time often changes before adult routines do.
  • Overnight indoor air becomes more important once smoke lingers or AQI stays elevated for hours.

Why the exact AQI still matters

Two readings in the same category can still represent meaningfully different dose over a full day.

That is why comparison pages and the calculator remain useful even after you know the color band.

Pasa del color a la dosis real

Usa la calculadora o una comparación para ver qué implica la diferencia entre dos valores AQI durante el tiempo que realmente te importa.
